Matt Williams, Planner

Matt Williams is a planning and land use regulations specialist with a background in law, the non-profit sector, small business management, and municipal administration. Matt graduated from Towson University with a degree in Family and Human Services with a focus in Non-profit Leadership. Soon after, he started a non-profit consulting company, working with clients on non-profit formation, how to improve organizational structure, how to navigate the non-profit life cycle, and more. After a stint at a tech startup in Baltimore, Matt attended law school and graduated from the University of Maryland, Baltimore with an interest in criminal defense. Matt visited Acadia National Park during law school and loved the Park so much, he ultimately decided to move to Maine to live close to the Park. Most recently, Matt was the Assistant Planner and then City Planner in Ellsworth, with a brief stint as the interim City Manager. Matt currently serves on the board of the Maine Association of Planners and the board of the Hancock County Regional Planning Commission.
